Emergency | Germany background with the VAT certificate, address and name the amazon will be taken to limit!

The new German VAT Law requires that the company name and tax address on the "Tax Settings" page of the seller platform must match the data in the database of the German Federal Central Tax Office, that is, the company name and address corresponding to the VAT number you upload must be the same as the company name and address on the Amazon seller platform.

Note to Amazon sellers: Starting from March 1, 2023, sellers who fail to complete compliance within the 60-day grace period will have their German site sales authority or the Amazon Logistics Function (FBA) in Germany restricted.

Q1: Where can I see my company name/tax address?

Compare the name and address shown on the VAT registration confirmation received from the German tax authority (Bescheid uber die Erteilung einer Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer) with the information you provide on the seller's platform.

Q2: Where do problems need to be solved?

1. If you find error information in the VAT confirmation

You can contact the appropriate German tax authority or your tax agent to provide updated information.

After modifying the details, send an email to the following Amazon email address: de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com

Please attach the confirmation letter of the tax authority and other relevant supporting documents in the email (you can also attach the email confirming the successful modification by the tax bureau). It is recommended that the email content be in English.

If your modification is in progress and has not taken effect for the time being, you can also report the current modification progress to the Amazon team to avoid affecting your account status.

2. If you find an error message in the Amazon seller platform

You can follow the instructions below to update your details.

Please note that updating your company and contact information from the identity information page may trigger the account verification process, which may require further documentation.

You can refer to the help page: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/GFG9NLA9MAAPTPWK, detailed information about the account up-to-date more detailed information.

Q3: How do I update a name or address in the Amazon seller platform?

Be sure to only modify the error message, which may be just the name or just the address.

1. The name does not match

1) Click the following link to access the "Business and Contact Information" TAB from your identity information:

https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/sw/SSR/BusinessKYCInfo/spaDashboard/;

2) Click "Click to Provide Information" next to the legal entity name so that you can update the legal business name;

3) After the change, click "Save" at the bottom, and then click "Submit for verification" at the top;

4) Send an email to de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com to confirm your changes (English is recommended), along with a screenshot of the completed changes.

Note that this is required to confirm that you have taken appropriate action. However, changing amazon's company name should be done with caution as it will trigger KYC review.

2. The address does not match

1) Click the following link to view your tax Settings:

https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/tax/consolidatedRegistrations?ref=sc_b2b_taxsettings_vrns;

2) Click the "Edit" button next to the associated VAT tax number;

3) In the pop-up window, select the correct address or enter a new address:

Please note that if the correct tax address does not exist in your pop-up window, it must be changed in "Your Seller Profile - Edit - Add New Address" by clicking the following link:

https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/sw/AccountInfo/SellerProfile/step/SellerProfileCSDetailsBusiness?contextMarketplaceID =A1PA6795UKMFR9

When you're done, go back to your tax Settings, and then select the address of your registered company in the pop-up window.

4) Send an email (English is recommended) to de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com with a screen shot of the new address in your tax Settings (see point 1).

Note that this is required to confirm that you have taken appropriate action.

The Amazon team will verify your new details within 2-3 business days of receiving your email.

Q4: What if I confirm my information is consistent?

If you confirm that your data matches, or your tax certificate address has been reduced due to the IRS character limit, resulting in a mismatch with the Amazon seller platform information, the two addresses are actually the same.

In this case, there is no need to contact the tax bureau for modification. You can directly send a complaint email to Amazon, explaining the reason for the inconsistent address.

The complaint email was also sent to:

de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com

The email should explain your situation and attach evidence (including but not limited to the communication letter between the tax bureau and you, screenshot of tax certificate, etc.) for further investigation by the Amazon team.

Q5: How do I operate as a sole proprietor?

If your VAT number is issued to an individual in a sole proprietorship, you will need to change the company name in the company information field to the name written on the VAT certificate, or add the name of the person holding the VAT number to the company name (for example: Amazon Limited Zhang Sam).

The above is how to deal with the inconsistency between the Amazon address/company name in Germany and the VAT number certificate in Germany. If the seller's friends have inconsistent addresses, please be sure to complete the compliance operation before the specified time, so as not to affect the security of the account.
